Biomédica Department of
Sistemas Genómicos
is specialized in the research, development and commercialization of analytical applications based on DNA and RNA techniques intended for the diagnosis of genetic diseases.
Through its R+D program, Sistemas Genómicos provides a wide range of clinical diagnostic services for a great number of specialists such as oncologists, paediatricians, neurologists and gynaecologists. These services are mainly applied in: Molecular Diagnosis, Virus Genotyping, Prenatal Diagnosis and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis.
One of the company’s main attributes is its quality policy and constant commitment to accredit and certify its procedures. As a result, Sistemas Genómicos has been accredited by the Entidad Nacional de Acreditación (ENAC), according to the criteria established in the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2000 standard and is certified by the Asociación Española de Normalización y Certificación (AENOR) based on the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000 standard. Moreover, it is the first laboratory in Spain to receive this signature of quality for Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis.
Sistemas Genómicos also participates and collaborates with the EMQN, European Molecular Genetics Quality Network, and is the only European laboratory that has participated in every External Quality Assurance programme organized by this international quality network.
