The different services offered by Oncohematological Genetics Unit are aimed at providing all the resources available in the field of genetics for the management of patients with hematologic diseases suspected of malignancy.

  • Haematological Cytogenetics allows the detection of chromosomal markers by differential cell cultures depending on the cell line under study and is one of the most important pillars in the diagnosis, monitoring and evaluation of treatment of leukemias and lymphomas.
  • Molecular Cytogenetics and Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) allows the study of specific markers of malignancy through fluorescent probes that bind to a locus or a chromosome involved in a rearrangement. The study of complex karyotypes is done through multiple hybridizations that cause spectral karyotyping.
  • Molecular Diagnostics by applying technologies and quantitative and qualitative methods in the study of minimal residual disease and treatment assessment.
